  Listen mode paints clickers and runners through walls. A brick or bottle pulls a clicker so you can walk past; not every encounter is a fight, and shotgun shells are for bloaters.

  Craft before the door

  Health kits, molotovs, and shivs should be built in the previous room. Opening a shiv door is a supply cache; spending a shiv on a clicker you could have stunned is how you enter the hotel basement empty.

  Molotov the packed room

  Clicker groups in the university and the sewers are molotovs, not pistol ammo. The shotgun is for bloaters and for the one runner who grabbed you while you reloaded.

  Ellie is a second gun

  In the winter and the university, Ellie will draw and shoot if you give her space. Don't stand in her line so she can actually fire; she is not just a follow-AI.

  Firefly pendants and optional talks

  Firefly pendants are the collectible that fills the menu. Optional conversations with Ellie (the music shop, the giraffe, the jokes) are easy to skip if you sprint the moment a room loads.

  David is the tables

  The steakhouse chase is a stealth room: keep a table between you and David, throw a bottle, then shiv. Standing up to shoot is how the fight turns into a melee you don't have the health for.

  Grounded is a new economy

  Grounded hides listen mode and starves ammo. Treat every fight as skippable, and don't fire the hunting rifle until a bloater forces it.
