StarTropics

An adventure about a boy named Mike searching tropical islands for his missing uncle.

Nintendo IRD · Nintendo · 8–12 hrs

Difficulty

A tropical Zelda with isometric rooms, a yo-yo, and a physical letter that came in the box. Sub-games and jumping puzzles sit next to story dungeons. C-Button jumps; people still miss it.

Tips

  • Start here

A is attack, B is jump

You jump more than you think. Look for the darker floor tiles — they often drop. Upgrade the yo-yo before the later islands; the baseball bat is a sidegrade.

  • Secrets

The letter in the manual is a code

When the game asks, dip the physical letter in water (or look up the numbers — 32-32). It is not a copy-protection gag. It opens the next chapter.
