Metroid

An exploration platformer about Samus Aran hunting Space Pirates and Metroids on planet Zebes.

Nintendo R&D1 · Nintendo · 4–8 hrs

Difficulty

Zebes is a map you draw yourself: morph ball tunnels, fake walls, and a timer that decides which ending you get. Missiles are the real health bar. The suit is a lie until you have the Ice Beam and a path back to Tourian.

Tips

  • Start here

    Morph, bombs, then Ice

Morph Ball is in the first pink corridor. Bombs are down from the first elevator. Ice Beam lets you turn enemies into platforms — that is how you climb rooms the map never labeled.

  • Secrets

    The ending is a clock

Start the timer when you grab the last Metroid kill and run. Under an hour is the famous ending. Name the file JUSTIN BAILEY for the suit skip if you want a second quest with different colors.
