Fortnite

A battle-royale shooter about landing on an island, scavenging, and being the last one standing.

Epic Games · 100+ hrs

Difficulty

The battle-royale that still rewards mats, edits, and not landing at the same named POI as forty other people. Seasons change the map; turbo-build, reboot vans, and storm surge do not.

Tips

  • Start here

Land on the edge, farm before you rotate

A quiet edge POI with 500 wood/brick/metal each will beat a hot drop you leave with a white AR and no mats. Reboot vans are the team revive; ping them before you thirst a knock in zone.

  • Start here

Build a ramp, then a wall, then a floor

The panic ramp is not a 1x1. Wall in front, ramp under your feet, floor above. Turbo-build in settings should be on; edit mode reset should be a bind you can hit without thinking.

  • Advanced

    Piece control is the fight

Take their wall, cone the head, then edit. Creative edit maps are practice, not a different game. Don't third-party a fight you don't have mats to finish.

  • Advanced

Storm surge is a loot check

If the game tells you to deal damage, you are behind on eliminations and need a fight or a downed player, not a bush. Fishing ice boxes still dump slurps when the named POIs are empty.

  • Secrets

    Recon and the map markers

Recon/marked chests and scout items paint the next rotating teams. A launch pad or a shockwave you save for zone is worth more than the extra SMG in the last open slot.

  • Multiplayer

Comms on footsteps, not on loot

Call mats, heals, and a number of players. Don't split a trio across two named POIs. If a teammate is knocked, smokes and a ramp are the revive, not a 1v3 ego peek.
