Apex Legends

A shooter about legends with special abilities fighting to be the last team alive.

Respawn Entertainment · Electronic Arts · 100+ hrs

Difficulty

A movement shooter BR with legend roles, ping-as-language, and a shield-cell economy. Don't hot-drop until you win the 1v1; don't thirst a knock if the teammate is still in the door.

Tips

  • Start here

Batteries over cells in late zone

Shield batteries and medkits are the late-game heals; cells and syringes are for the first two circles. Loot a building completely before you rotate, or you will fight the next team with white armor and no bats.

  • Start here

    Ping is the voice chat

Ping enemies, loot, and the next rotation. Don't hot-drop Fragment or the current hot POI until you can win a fair 1v1; edge drops still get you games to practice in.

  • Advanced

Third-party the team that just finished

The winning play is to hit the team that just burned their ults. Stick together; a split team is two 1v3s. On PC, tap-strafe and super-glide are movement; on console, jump-pad and tap-strafe substitutes still beat a standing spray.

  • Advanced

Don't thirst if the teammate is close

Finish a knock only when the other two aren't swinging the door. Crafting (replicator) is a rotation tool for ammo and bats when the zone pulls away from your POI.

  • Secrets

    Evac towers and replicators

Evac towers are the rotation when zone pulls across a map you cannot walk. The replicator's rotation is on the map; a team that crafts purple armor mid-game will beat a team still looking for a ground spawn.

  • Multiplayer

One scan, one move, one anchor

A scan legend (Bloodhound), a reposition legend (Valkyrie, Octane), and an anchor (Gibraltar, Newcastle) is a team. Three of the same role is why your ranked games feel like a deathmatch with extra steps. Revive behind cover, not in the open.
