Cyberpunk 2077

An open-world RPG about a mercenary chasing a stolen, mind-altering chip through Night City.

CD Projekt Red · CD Projekt · 40–70 hrs

Difficulty

Night City after the 2.0 combat rework, with Phantom Liberty's Relic tree sitting on top. Iconic weapons, ripperdoc cyberware, and a dialogue attribute floor matter more than the next legendary clothing piece.

Tips

  • Start here

    Attributes gate conversations

Body, Reflexes, Intelligence, Technical, and Cool all open dialogue and doors. A 20 in one stat and a 3 in the rest will lock you out of gigs you could have talked through. Grab double-jump cyberware from a ripperdoc as soon as the slot is free.

  • Start here

    Don't sell iconics

Iconic weapons upgrade along the playthrough. Skippy, the Widow Maker, and the later Rebellion/Death and Taxes pair are easy to vendor by accident while cleaning the stash.

  • Advanced

    Overclock the deck

A cyberdeck with Overclock queues extra quickhacks from RAM you do not have. Headshot multipliers on pistols plus a Sandevistan is a different game from a full netrunner; pick one per playthrough.

  • Advanced

    Phantom Liberty's Relic tree

Dogtown's Relic skill line is a second progression track. Finish enough of the DLC to unlock it before you spend every extra perk on the base tree you were already finishing.

  • Secrets

    Delamain, Peralez, Skippy

The Delamain cab side jobs, the Peralez apartment mystery, and Skippy's personality split are easy to leave unfinished if you only follow the main job pips. They're the best writing in the base game.

  • Builds

    Sandy katana or RAM netrunner

Sandevistan plus a good katana (Byakko, or later the iconic katanas) is the melee clear. Intelligence plus RAM recovery and queue hacks is the other. Hybrid 'a little of both' feels weak until very high level.

  • Bosses

Adam Smasher is a cyberware check

Bring armor-pen, don't stand in the missiles, and use the Relic or Sandy window to dump damage. If you haven't upgraded the iconic you planned to use, the smasher arena will tell you immediately.
