NES #22 · 1988 · E10+
An action-adventure about a mix of overhead tank driving and side-view platforming inside a mutating underground.
Sunsoft · 5–8 hrs
A tank Metroidvania with on-foot gunplay in the walls. SOPHIA is the map; Jason is the key. Homing missiles and the wall-climbing upgrade are the two items that turn the underground from a maze into a route.
Each area is a boss door plus a mutant you have to leave the tank to fight. Don't dump crusher missiles on trash. Hover over spikes; don't jump them.
Once SOPHIA can drive up walls, backtrack every dead-end you labeled 'later.' The on-foot rooms hide keys the tank cannot see. Pause if you lose Jason — the tank waits.
