Battle Chess

A chess game where the pieces fight an animated battle when one captures another.

Interplay · 20–60 min

Difficulty

The rules are ordinary chess. A capture plays a short fight between the two pieces, and the piece that moved still takes the square. The cartoon does not change the result.

Tips

  • Start here

    Play the board

The fight is just the capture. A queen trade is still a queen trade after the animation ends.

  • Advanced

    Do not rush the endgame

The computer plays a normal chess game under the battles. A loose back rank still loses, even if your king looks busy.
